Where to start when making a mood board?

There are a variety of essential requirements to making a successful mood board it must;

  • Meet the requirements of the design brief

  • Have a combination of images, text and tactile qualities

  • Clear presentation

HERE ARE SOME INSPIRATIONAL MOOD BOARDS

When creating your moodboards think about how these designers have used text, image, layering and have a clear colour theme.

Does your moodboard have these qualities.?

YEAR 10 TEXTILES

LAYER, EMBROIDER, PRINT!

  • As part of your year 10 project you will be expected to produce an illustrated image using a variety of techniques such as; printing, embroidery, collage and applique.

Here are  few images to inspire your layered image project.
Check out their use of embroidery, colour and image.

Think about how this textiles artist has used a combination of photos, origami style folded fabrics, textured papers and simple cut shapes. What a fantastic and inspirational fashion illustration.

 I love how this artisit takes an iconic image such as a magazine front cover and turns it into an image full of texture and tactile qualities through embroidery.You would never associate these qualities with such an image.

Use found images and work into them transforming them into something new, giving them a new sense of life in the same way this artist has. Look how this immagr has been brought to life with embroidery.

Use these amazing images to give you inspiration and ideas of how you can create a unique and original illustration.
